Was this really necessary? Seriously?

So why is Nike standing behind Tiger after such reputable companies such as Gatorade, Carter’s and Accenture dropped him?  They’ve chosen to take on the PR nightmare.  For money.  If they can rebuild his image, even if he only brings in half of the business he did before, they’ll be rolling in the dough.

What’s the point of this commercial?  They’re not selling anything Nike.  They’re selling an image.  Does anyone find it necessary?  No.  I actually find it insulting for Tiger.  Bad boy, now go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve done!

There are countless parodies online so far and the commercial just got its own short segment on ET.   Everyone thinks its stupid.  Everyone knows about it.  Everyone.

PR mission accomplished?
